18TH C. ENGLISH "PORTRAIT OF A GENTLEMAN" O/C
English School, likely late 18th century. "Portrait of a Gentleman", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. A fine painting of an 18th century gentleman draped in a red velvet coat, finely embroidered collar, and silk scarf. Heavily rosette carved giltwood frame. Provenance: Purchased from Spalding Nix Fine Art, Atlanta, Georgia, in 2005. Approx: 25" x 28.75" (canvas), 31" x 36"(frame).
