1. J.J. RILEY Hydraulic Mining at Gold Run C.P.R.R., ASG# JJR/1013 shows a man viewing the hydraulic pumps pumping
2. J.J. RILEY Gold Bearing Pyramid, Hydraulic Mining Gold Run, C.P.R.R.., ASG# JJR/1007 shows the small hills that are the source of the gold.
3. J.J. RILEY Bear River near Colfax C.P.R.R., ASG# JJR/1005 in a small valley with clouds overhead.
One of California's wonderful but little known photographers, all three Albumen print stereograph cards are by J.J. Reilly 187-75 Albumen 3.5x6.8" and all in California.
John James Reilly (b.1834 Scotland, d. 1893 San Francisco), active New York 1866, in California 1870 Stockton, working with J. Pitcher Spooner photographed Yosemite 1870-75 and Central Pacific Rail Road. He was a friend of John Muir. Worked out of San Francisco, Eureka. CREDIT: Mautz, Biographies of Western Photographers.
Condition: JJR/1013, Stereo view Hydraulic mining Excellent has very rich tones, minor wear. Front has decorative orange mount with title and photographers info, backing is plain, light stock.
JJR/1007 Stereo card Gold bearing Pyramid has light tones Excellent with mild wear front has decorative orange mount with title and photographers info, backing is plain, light stock.
JJR/1005 Bear River, California Excellent very rich tones, minor wear, front has decorative orange mount with title and photographers info, backing is plain, light stock
