Lot of 2 Indo-Persian Kard Daggers
Lot includes:
1.) 9.5" blade. 14.25" overall with hilt. Single edge straight point blade with gold koftgari work to both ricassos, spine of blade, and backstrap. Hilt appears to have ivory grip panels, with gold koftgari decorated bolsters. Bolster(s) appear to have become detached at some point due to oxidation losses and are held in place with tape.
2.) 8.25" blade. 12" overall with hilt. Single edge straight point wootz steel blade. Bolster appears to be silver, with other bolster missing. Hilt has ivory grip panels.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
Condition
Both items are in about fair condition. Blades show scattered oxidation, pitting, and scratches. Bolsters of both items have condition issues including oxidation and losses. Grip panels show some discoloration, scratches, and hairline cracks due to age.
