Lot of 18th/19th Century Indo-Persian Dhal or Separ Shields
1.) About 17.75" diameter x 3.75" deep. Circular steel shield with a rolled brass rim. Item features four rosette bosses to shield face that are connected to ring loop fasteners on backside. Shield face is heavily etched with Arabic text, floral scrollwork, and geometric designs in a concentric pattern.
2.) About 18.25" diameter x 4" deep. Circular steel shield with a rolled rim. Item features four rosette bosses connected to fasteners on backside, and a central boss that is shaped like a rounded sun face. Shield face is heavily etched with Arabic text, floral scrollwork, and geometric designs in a concentric pattern, with gold inlay to inner circle designs. Attached to one of fasteners is a rope/textile grip.

Condition
About fair. Item 1 shows light oxidation overall to shield face, with heavier oxidation and pitting to backside. Item 2 has oxidation overall, but gold inlay is still visible.
