Amberg Mauser Model 1871 with Bavarian Unit Markings
11x60R. 33.5" barrel. SN: 5670. Bright finish, steel furniture, brass triggerguard, European hardwood stock. Single shot bolt action metallic cartridge battle rifle. Receiver with Amberg arsenal mark, Imperial German proofs, standard MOD 71 marking and 1877 production date. Mostly matching numbers, with the middle and upper bands mismatched, as well as the buttplate and its screws. Bolt, cocking piece, safety, bolt face, receiver, barrel, rear sight, lower band and most screws do match. Buttplate with Bavarian unit marking B/2AF/10.26. Retains ladder rear sight, front sight, bayonet lug on upper band, sling swivels and a jag head cleaning rod. An incorrect pattern reproduction sling is included.

Condition
Good. Bore with strong rifling, partly bright and moderately oxidized. Metal with a mottled and oxidized gray patina with scattered minor surface roughness and some lightly scattered pitting. Markings in metal mostly clear. Action is mechanically functional. Wood with moderate wear and showing scattered bumps, dings and mars.
