Lot of 19th Century Pistols Including: Smith & Wesson .38 DA, Belgian Break Top Revolver and Percussion Pistol
1.) .38 S&W. 3.25" barrel length. SN: 59710. Item is a Smith & Wesson 38 Double Action 2nd Model revolver and features a nickel plated finish overall mounting oversize aftermarket walnut grips and standard rear latch notch and pinned front blade sights. Double action top-break auto-ejector revolver with five-shot cylinder and bobbed hammer. Top of the barrel shows two-line address and patent mark reading SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT'D JAN. 17 & 24 65/JULY 11 65. AUG 24 69. JULY 25 71. DEC 2 79. MAY 11 & 25 1880. Triggerguard appears to have been replaced.
2.) .44 Centerfire. 5" barrel length. SN: NSN. Blued metal finish overall with polished small parts mounting floral design hardrubber grips and latch rear notch with front blade sights. Double-action six shot top break automatic ejector revolver. Top of the barrel rib shows faint traces of a manufacturer's marking that has been obliterated. Cylinder shows Belgian firing proof marks. Latch has been replaced with a possibly handmade and ill fitting copy.
2.) .58 Caliber. 7.25" barrel length. SN: NSN. Bright metal finish overall mounting checkered walnut grips with octagonal barrel and front blade paired with rear notch sights. Single shot percussion smoothbore pistol with octagonal barrel. Item shows some light border scroll on major components with floral embellishments at the edges and over the pommel cap. German silver escutcheon to the wrist is unsigned. Comes with iron ramrod. Hammer spur has sheared off.

Condition
1.) Fair. Bore is Dark with patina and pitting throughout. Metal finish overall appears to have been buffed and shows rounded edges with some traces of rust or patina on trigger, in barrel rib, and over lower frame and triggerguard. Item shows some pitting that has been cleaned. Grips are worn with handling wear and mars over the butt. Action is extremely stiff and fails to consistently cycle.2.) Fair. Bore is Dark with patina and pitting throughout. Metal finish is a mottled brown patina overall with light pitting and some rounded edges indicative of possible buffing and refinishing. Grips show some handling wear and loss of fine details. Left grip panel is split through the mounting screw. Action fails to index or lock cylinder, and is unable to reset.3.) Fair. Bore is Dark with patina and oxidation throughout. Metalwork shows rounded edges suggesting the pistol was buffed at some point. Metalwork dominated by a mottled brown to gray patina with scattered pitting and some oxidation on triggerguard. Hammer spur has sheared off. Stock has been sanded and shows weak edges and checkering with a crack to wrist behind lockplate and scattered chips and abrasions.
