Swiss Model 1871 Vetterli Rifle
10.4x38mm. 33.15" barrel length. 94109. Color casehardened frame and elevator with blued barrel and polished small parts set in a straight wrist walnut stock with checkered forend and mounting adjustable rear notch and front blade sights. Bolt-action internal tube magazine fed repeating rifle mounting sling swivels on the toe and upper barrel band. Receiver is struck {Cross/MW} with matching mark on the barrel octagonal. Swiss pattern inspection stamps scattered over small parts. Bolt body serial number does not match. Swiss {Cross and Shield} stamp appears to right forend. Top of the comb shows D8{Cross}C1 struck into the flat forward of the buttplate.

Condition
Very Good. Bore is Very Bright with sharp rifling throughout. Item shows brown mottled patina forming over the triggerguard with scattered flecked gray patina to the casehardened frame. Blued finish thinning on barrel with some brown patinated streaks. Stock shows some weakness to the stock marks suggesting light sanding.
