**Arsenal Rebuilt Soviet Russian SKS Rifle
7.62x39mm. 20" barrel length. SN: BP2502 (Cyrillic letters correspond to VR2502I). Blued metal Arsenal refinish overall with polished bolt set in a laminated wood semi-pistol grip stock with standard folding bayonet and notch and post sights. Short-stroke piston driven semi-automatic rifle utilizing the tilting-bolt principle. The receiver cover has been polished and arsenal refinished, and displays the {Box} insignia of the 1st GRAU Arsenal which was in Balakliya, Ukrainian SSR. Rifle shows scattered Soviet inspection markings to major parts with most metal parts displaying matching numbers, but the replacement stock is unmarked, and the gas piston does not match. Stock features a spliced toe at the butt. Comes with cleaning rod but no tool kit. Rifle features a chromed bore.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
From the Collection of Vern Gregg
Condition
Good. Bore is Minty with sharp rifling throughout. Blued metal refinish shows some edgewear on the magazine and triggerguard, abrasions and mars to the muzzle, and scattered light scratches. Finish to the upper handguard retainers is wearing down. Buttplate shows some pitting on the upper edge with brown patina dominating the outer edges and a weak trapdoor spring. Bolt displays some mottled gray patina forming. Some orange dust clinging to the seams visible in photos.
