**Mauser C96 9mm Refinished
9mm Para. 5.5" barrel length. SN: 905990. Blued metal refinish overall with niter blued small parts, polished hammer and bolt, and mounting reproduction walnut Red 9 grips. Short recoil operated single action autoloading pistol fed by an internal box magazine charged with stripper clips. Right frame shows the maker marking WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/OBERNDORF A. NECKAR/D.R.P.u.A.P. with left frame showing MAUSER logo. A further WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF A/N appears atop the barrel flat. Safety is marked S and F. German {Crown/U} commercial proof marking is struck into the barrel, indicating this to be a commercial production Mauser and not a military model. The serial number indicates this was most likely a commercial production firearm completed in the 1930s. Item shows a modern importer marking beneath the triggerguard reading SPORTING GOODS EXP/RUTHER GROTON. Frame is cut for attaching a shoulder stock and displays a lanyard loop. Sights consist of an adjustable rear leaf graduated from 50 to 1000 meters paired with a front blade.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
From the Collection of Vern Gregg
Condition
Fair to Good as Refinished. Bore is dirty with some residues throughout that should clean to Very Bright with crisp rifling. Item shows pitting on the edges of the frame around the grips, along the triggerguard, and on the left frame above the trigger. Item further shows some light pitting over the breech face. Bluing shows some thinning spots on the barrel with patches of brown patina. Some gray patina forming on the polished surfaces of the bolt. Left grip panel displays a patch of adhesive residue to the forward edge.
