**AC41-Code 2nd Variation Walther P.38 Pistol
World War II
9mm Para. 4.9" barrel. SN: 3480c. Blued metal finish mounting horizontally serrated black Bakelite grips and featuring rear notch and front blade sights. Short recoil operated DA/SA autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Left slide displays the P.38 model marking followed by ac/41 code indicating it was made by Walther in 1941. Further markings include the {WWII German Eagle} stamp on the right slide, left barrel, and left locking lug. The {Eagle/359} mark appears in two places on the right slide, below the bolt, firing pin and indicator cover, below safety lever, on the hammer, slide stop, trigger, left frame, right barrel, and right locking lug. Barrel has been marked with a bore gauge reading of 8,83. Serial numbers match on the slide, barrel, locking lug, and frame. Magazine serial number does not match.
WARNING: The de-cocker fails to function unless the hammer has been pulled back. Item should be inspected by a gunsmith before attempting to fire it.

Condition
Fair. Bore is dirty with some firing residues that should clean to Bright with worn rifling. Metal finish appears to have been polished off on the slide flanks to give it a two-tone appearance. Item shows some pinpoint pitting on the slide flanks, edgewear overall, and scattered scratches. Brown patina has formed over the gripstraps and triggerguard.
