**Ortgies' Patent .380 Pistol 5th Variant by Deutsche Werke Aktiengesellschaft
.380 ACP. 3.5" barrel length. SN: 62830. Blued metal finish with polished barrel mounting smooth walnut grip panels with brass Deutsche Werke medallions. Simple blowback operated striker action autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Left slide shows maker mark DEUTSCHE WERKE AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT WERK ERFURT/ORTGIES' PATENT. Forward frame has been export marked with GERMANY below the serial number. Serial numbers match on the slide, barrel, and frame. Standard {Crown/N} proof mark struck into the right frame, right slide, and on the chamber above caliber marking 380 Auto. Magazine is nickel plated.

Condition
Good. Bore is Bright with crisp rifling throughout. Metal finish shows some scattered light scratches with a patch of brown patina forming on the upper rear frame, and further brown patina forming in losses along the grips. Item shows some light edgewear overall. Barrel retains much of its polish with some areas of grey patina at the edges. Grips show some light handling mars at the corners and tarnish to the medallions.
