**Steyr Model 95/30 Carbine with Spurious WWII German Police Markings
World War II
8x56R. 20.5" barrel. SN: 9011X. Blued metal refinish with polished bolt and rear sight leaf set in walnut semi-pistol grip stock with full length upper handguard. Straight-pull action repeating rifle fed by Mannlicher pattern en-bloc clips and mounting an adjustable rear ladder sight graduated up to 2200 meters with 500 meter battle setting. Receiver ring is struck STEYR/M.95 with the barrel struck S, indicating it was modified to accept the later 8x56mm cartridge. The serial numbers match on the receiver, barrel, and bolt, but the stock has been force matched, and the buttplate does not match. Item has been struck with three modern Waffenamt stamps to the right receiver, an oversize {WWII German Eagle} stamp to the left, and a second larger oversize eagle on the stock. The matching serial number to the stock appears to have been recently struck, and was most likely force matched at the same time the spurious marks were applied. Import mark to barrel reads CAI MIAMI FL.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
Condition
Good as Refinished. Bore is dirty with residues throughout that should clean to Bright with crisp rifling. Metal refinish thinning over the triggerguard with some scattered light mars and scratches. Stock shows some scattered dents and mars, along with rounded edges suggesting it was refinished at some point.
