**German dou/42-Code G.24(t) Rifle
World War II
8mm Mauser. 24" barrel. SN: 5223g. Blued metal finish. Walnut stock has a plain semi pistol grip and forearm, with grasping grooves and handguard. Bolt action rifle with adjustable tangent notch rear sight and blade front sight. Item features a downturned bolt handle, internal box magazine, triple sling loops, bayonet lug forend, and a slotted head cleaning rod. Stock does not appear to have been cut for sling slots or a takedown disc, and has a mismatched serial number marked to left side of butt. Markings include dou/42 in white, two eagle/480 marks, and an eagle/swastika all to receiver. Includes a brown leather sling.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
Condition
Good to very good, possibly refurbished at some point. Bore is frosty and shows some light pitting. Finish has sprinkled pit marks and light scratching overall. Some of markings appear very slightly weakened, with possible blemishes under finish. Stock shows scattered light scratches and some mars.
