L.C. Smith Crown Grade SxS Sidelock shotgun, 12 gauge, 32" vent rib barrels, blue and color case hardened finish, ivory bead front sight, auto-ejectors, Hunter single trigger, inlayed gold crown on the release lever, finely checkered deluxe walnut two-piece pistol grip stock, beavertail fore end with Schable tip, round escutcheon plate in the buttstock marked, "DONATED TO DUCKS UNLIMITED / BY NAN & FRANK PACHMAYR", horn grip cap, clear factory markings with the barrel marked, "MADE TO ORDER BY THE HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. FULTON N.Y." on the left barrel at the breech. Mfg. 1912-1950, the shotgun is in fine overall condition, retaining approx. 90-95% thinning factory blue finish showing light wear at the muzzles, scratches and handling marks. There is light surface erosion under the rib. The receiver displays considerable muted color case hardening going to silver with 70-80% coverage in rose and scroll style engraving with intricate game scenes on two panels. The stock is fine with sharp checkering, minor indentations and attractive figure in the buttstock. The butt ends with a 0.5" dark wood insert with a ventilated rubber recoil pad, providing a 15" LOP. The action functions well and locks up securely. The bores are very good.
