L.C. Smith Hunter Arms No. 3 SxS shotgun, 12 gauge, 30" filed solid rib Damascus steel barrels, color case hardened receiver, checkered walnut two-piece pistol grip stock, splinter fore end, extractors, double triggers, brass bead front sight, tang safety, clear factory markings. Mfg in 1894, the shotgun is in very good overall condition, retaining significant damascene finish on the barrels with wear at the muzzles, scratches and minor marks. The receiver displays toned, silvered color case hardened finish, with modest border engraving and simple game scenes on two panels. The stock is fine with indentations, scrapes and storage marks. The butt stock displays attractive figure with an extra coat of varnish added and ends with a ribbed hard rubber butt plate, missing a chip at the toe, providing a 14.25" LOP. The action functions well and locks up securely. The bores are good with a freckling of erosion.
