Desirable Colt Model 1883 Grade II hammerless SxS Boxlock shotgun, 12 gauge, 28" Damascus steel solid rib barrels, blue and color case hardened finish, finely checkered two-piece walnut pistol grip stock, splinter fore end with Deeley/Edge lever release, blank round escutcheon plate in the buttstock, checkered side panels, hard rubber grips cap, extractors, double triggers, automatic safety, brass bead front sight, clear factory markings. Mfg in 1892, the shotgun is in fine antique condition, showing brown barrels with an attractive damascene pattern with light wear at the muzzles, light scratches and marks. The receiver displays muted, darkening color case hardened finish with 10-20% coverage in fine scroll engraving. The stock is fine with minor indentations and marks. The checkering is sharp and the buttstock shows desirable figure. The butt ends with a Colt factory checkered hard rubber butt plate with Colt monogram, providing a 14" LOP. The action functions well and locks up tight on face. The bores are good, with minor erosion.
