Scarce Custom WWII German G33/40 Mauser bolt action sporting carbine, 8mm Mauser cal., 20" barrel with steps, blue finish, smooth hardwood one-piece pistol grip stock, contoured bolt for scope clearance, flag safety, sling swivels, numerous German Waffenamt proofs, acceptances marks and eagle over swastika stamps on the barrel, receiver and magazine floor plate. The rifle is topped with a Bausch & Lomb base, rings and Balvar 8 2.5 x 8 variable power rifle scope with fine wire reticle, providing clear optics. The rifle was mfg during WWII, possibly as a Mountain carbine, due to the short, lightweight barrel. The carbine is in very good condition as sporterized, retaining 85-90% thinning blue finish with scratches, scrapes and a larger bare spot in the middle of the barrel. The receiver shows scrapes and scratches. The bottom metal displays thinning finish and edge wear. The left-handed Monte Carlo stock is good with a Schnabel fore end, left hand cheek piece and deluxe sling swivels. The buttstock ends with a ventilated rubber recoil pad, providing a 14" LOP. The action functions smoothly and locks up securely. The bore is very good with well-defined rifling.
