Wedgwood 'Rosso Antico' Egyptian Revival Pitcher, C. 1810 - Wedgwood. England. An early 19th century terracotta pitcher with Egyptian Revival motif in black basalt relief. Featuring Egyptian styled decorations such as winged scarabs, birds, altars, bulls, papyrus flowers and florals. 9 1/4" h. Impressed "WEDGWOOD" mark on underside. Condition: Pitcher with stable spidercrack at rim and around top of handle (possible professional repair), a very small nick to raised band above relief decoration at top. Some damage to lid, loss to head and tail of crocodile finial, chip to rim of lid.
