Antique Shipibo-Conibo Peruvian Amazon Effigy Pottery Vessel - A large painted terracotta pottery effigy water vessel by the female potters of the Shipibo Conibo tribe who live along the Ucayali River in the Amazon rainforest. Featuring a human face and decorated with geometric tribal designs in buff, orange and brown colors. Some areas with a semi-gloss finish. 13 1/2" h x 16" w. Provenance: Purchased in the 1970s from a Sarasota store that acquired these pots from John Easterling (2nd husband of Olivia Newton-John). Condition: Minor normal wear appropriate for age and use, some slight roughage to nose of figure.
