Classic Talmudic novella authored by R. Shimon Shkop of Grodno. Primarily dealing with complex Talmudic directives, this sefer was enthusiastically received and remains a fundamental work in the Lithuanian school of Yeshivos.
R. Shimon Shkop (1860-1940), studied in the great Yeshivas of Mir and Volozhin. In 1884, he was appointed as a Maggid Shiur in the Telz Yeshiva, where he remained until 1903, when he succeeded his father as Rav of Moltash. In 1920, he became Rosh yeshiva in Grodno where his shiurim attracted hundreds of students. Under his leadership Yeshivas Grodno became world famous as a bastion of Torah.
