Chinese Folk Paper Cuts (4)
4 beautifully hand-made Chinese Folk cuttings, intricate designs of traditionally styled female dancers of vibrant colors in various different poses. Each cutting is protected with a thin sheet of tissue over it and a thicker paper underneath. They are each approximately 6.5" x 13.25". Some show very slight stains on paper sheet underneath, but all appear to be in very good condition considering their delicate nature. Please see photos for additional details. "Chinese paper cutting is a treasured traditional Chinese art dating back to when paper was developed. These elaborate cutting designs are created with scissors or artwork knives and can include a variety of shapes, such as symbols and animals. Because the cut-outs are often used to decorate doors and windows, they are sometimes referred to as "window flowers" or "window paper-cuts"".
