Hampton, Fred (subject). Group of 4 Books on the Murder of Fred Hampton, including: Fred Hampton’s House (1971, Four page pamphlet subtitled “A statement provided December 26, 1970 by a film-maker present in Fred Hampton’s apartment a few hours after the killings of December 4, 1969 / A Reminder”. Light corner creases otherwise fine.) And: The Story of the Murder of Fred Hampton (which the N.Y. Sunday Times refused to print) (1970, An offprint republished by the Black Panthers of an article that originally appeared in Scanlan’s magazine. Staple bound.) And: Report of the January 1970 Grand Jury. United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division (1970, First edition, first printing of the uncorrected imprint. Report of the Grand Jury held to investigate the Dec. 4, 1969 police raid in Chicago on members of the Black Panther Party. Slight fading and smudging to the blue stapled wraps.) And: Search and Destroy; a Report by the Commission of Inquiry into the Black Panthers and the Police (1973, First edition (stated), first printing. Report on the murder of Merk Clark and Fred Hampton in Chicago.) Hampton was a political activist and a deputy chairman of The Black Panther Party. By most contemporary accounts, he was drugged by a police informant (William O’Neal) and was shot to death while sleeping by Chicago Police during a raid.
