First edition "Rerum A Carolo V. Caesare Augusto in Africa Bello Gestarum Commentarij" Maps in contemporary vellum binding, published by Joannes Bellerus, 1554.

Precious collection recounts the North African expeditions of Charles V in the Barbary states of Tunisia and Algeria.

Exceedingly rare, this copy is complete with all three maps of Tunis, Algiers and El Kef. This marks the first time in sixteen years that a complete copy has been sold at auction.

Clergyman. author, archeologist, lecturer, son of Henry and Leah Zimmerman, Jeremiah Zimmerman graduated at Pennsylvania College, Gettysburg, 1873, and from Gettysburg Theological Seminary 1876. D.D., 1896, from Pa. College and also from Wittenburg Coll. and from Susquehanna Univ.; LL.D. 1902, from Pa. Coll. and L.H.D. 1908, from Susquehanna. Married M. Adele Springstein, 1877, at Valatie, N. Y. and Sophia Elizabeth Amos, at Syracuse N. Y. 1890.

He spent five years in foreign travel for study, including a trip of 28 months around the world when he lectured many times in the leading cities of the Hawaiian Islands, Japan, Korea, China, India, etc. For 25 years he was the pastor of the First Lutheran Church of Syracuse, N. Y. and resigned in order to travel at will and to devote himself to literary and educational work. He was a delegate to the Gen. Synod a number of times and was president of the Federation of Churches and Christian workers of the State of N. Y.
