Virginibus Puerisque 1887 Robert Stevenson Signed Louise Chandler to Friend Womens Rights Activist Laura Curtis Bullard RARE & IMPORTANT Signed & Inscribed by Louise Chandler to her lifelong friend and Women’s rights activist Laura Curtis Bullard. Louise Chandler Moulton (1835-1908) published her first collection of poems, This, That & the Other, in 1854. The following year she wed Boston publisher William Moulton. A literary critic for the New York Tribune and Boston Herald, she also wrote collections of short stories, beginning with Bed-time Stories (1873), and a travelogue, Lazy Tours in Spain (1896). Laura Curtis Bullard (1831–1912) was an American writer and women's rights activist. She founded a newspaper called The Ladies' Visitor, and Drawing Room Companion and published two novels with women's rights themes, the best known of which is Christine: or, Woman's Trials and Triumphs. She was elected as a corresponding secretary for the National Woman Suffrage Association, led by Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony, at its founding meeting.
