Early 18th century porringer, William Cowell, Sr., Boston, MA, circa 1720, with deep bowl and geometric handle. The monogram removed at some point. Two maker's marks ''WC'' in rectangular cartouche, one on outer edge of lip near handle, and one slightly rubbed on inside center of bowl. The handle possibly reattached. 2-1/4''h, 7-3/4''w, 5-1/2''d. Total approximate weight 8.4 troy oz. Provenance: Trefry & Partridge, Boston, MA, 1973.
