Mahakala Demon Mask from Tibet
A large aggressive carved wooden ceremonial mask featuring a demon like face and crown of human skulls, large fangs and wide nostrils, long ears. Mahakala is a fierce manifestation of the Hindu god Shiva and the consort of the goddess Mahakala. Early 20th century Tibet. From a private mid west collection since the 1960's. The mask measures 14 x 12 inches. A metal display stand can also be included for an additional $50.00.
Condition: Fair, well handled and worn
