A carved wood and painted musical instrument embellished with incised geometric designs and attached animal hide drum membrane. This drum measures 16 x 13 inches. Luba peoples, Drc / Congo, central Africa. Provenance: Field Collected by David Brunell in situ while working in the region for 17 years, central Africa, 1990.
