A Kuba Harp, Field Collected 1990
A very old and well worn carved wooden harp, with bent branches as the neck of the instrument, each with a small wooden ancestor style head on top. The Body of the instrument shows much wear and handling. The Harp measures 23 x 8 inches. Note the old collection numbers and writing on the side. Kuba or related ethnic group, Congo, central Africa. Provenance: Field Collected by David Brunell in situ while working in the region for 17 years, central Africa in 1990.
