Italian Fascist Youth Balilla Blank Firing Carbine
World War II
5.6mm Blank Firing Only. 15" barrel. SN: B2138. Blued metal finish with case colored bolt and straight wrist and half-length Walnut stock mounting an under-folding spike bayonet. Bolt-action repeating blank firing gun patterned after the Moschetto Modello 1891 Carcano Carbine. The receiver is struck with the Italian Fascist Youth ONB logo featuring the {Fasces with Axe Head} surrounded by the letters ONB. Barrel flats show manufacturer marking F.N.A./BRESCIA with a date marking of 1934-XII. Stock shows the standard FNA stamp with serial number matching the receiver.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
Condition
Good. Bore is Frosty with patina throughout and strong rifling. Receiver finish is dominated by a brown patina with small parts and barrel retaining much of their blue. Case colored components show some operating wear and mottled brown patina, but colors remain visible. Stock has scattered handling wear, dents, and mars overall. Tip of the bayonet has sheared off with the bayonet retaining only 6.5" of its length. Rear sight missing the tensioning button.
