This desirable Colt Police Positive Model DA revolver with factory inscription on the backstrap is in overall fine condition displaying approximately 97% black blued finish to the gun's parts with the hammer polished bright on both sides. The factory checkered hardwood grips are fine displaying pleasing grain patterns and silver colored Rampant Colt logo emblems inset at the top of each grip panel. The markings are sharp, the action is crisp and the bore/rifling are fine. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter confirming caliber, barrel length, finish, type of stocks "Not Listed". The letter also notes: "Factory Engraved: 'Ry Exp Agy' on the strap"; also noting "Shipped to: Railway Express Agency c/o W. C. Harwood, New York" with date of shipment: September 5, 1930, and number of same type guns in shipment: 50. Accompanied by a factory brown cardboard box w/advertising label, in poor condition, having come into contact at one time with moisture. A fine addition to any serious public or private collection.
