“Seated Flapper in Brown Patterned Skirt, Matching Top, with Hat” Marshall Field’s Animatronic Christmas Window Display Figure. Chicago: Marshall Field’s, 1982. Victorian-era large painted plaster figure (“Walnut Room; Figure II”) of a blonde woman in two-tone brown shoes, skirt, belt with tassel, to with buttons, earrings, and hat with jade floral decorations. On wooden base with motor and plug. 36” high. Motor works, and figure’s head swivels back and forth. Some minor wear, some cracking to left hand. Near fine. From the collection of the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago. This, and the other Marshall Field's Christmas Window display lots were created by Virginia Paxson in collaboration with the legendary New York design/fabrication firm, Spaeth Design.
