This rare Remington Arms Co. Model 1885 SxS 12 gauge Damascus barrel shotgun is in good condition displaying a gray patina w/traces of case colors on the receiver, side plates & lockplate (which locks up tight) plus muted black blued finish to the hammers, trigger guard, triggers, top barrel release lever & forend securing lever/base w/approximately 70% damascene patterning remaining visible on the barrels w/exterior pitting confined primarily to approximately 6" of the bbls at the breeches. The checkered hardwood butt stock & forend are in very good condition showing pleasing grain patterns & a forend tip accented by a dark horn decorative insert plus both having near complete remaining light oil finish & a factory checkered black gutta percha butt plate creating a length of pull of 14.5". The chokes are Improved Cylinder/Improved Modified; the drop of the comb is 2.75"; the drop of the Heel is 3". The markings are good, the actions are crisp & the bores are fine.
